This was a special day. We were joined by Tim Robertson from Compassion UK sharing about “Worship and Justice.” He shared about the work that Compassion is doing combatting extreme poverty in countries around the world. They currently work in 45 countries across Africa, Asia, Central and
South America making a difference through their child sponsorship program.
“He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it
means to know me?” declares the Lord – Jeremiah 22:16
Tim then shared about his personal journey and the burden that God laid on his heart, from a young age, to fight injustice. He spoke about how when we
see injustice around us, we should be moved to do something about it. He made a powerful connection between our worship and our actions. When we
enter the presence of the Holy Spirit, and we meet with Him, we share His heart and that should move us to act. The closer we get to God, the more we
should desire to carry out His will in the world around us.
“Break my heart for what breaks Yours, everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause.”
After lunch we broke out into our usual workshops, where the song-writing group finished writing a song. It centred around Psalm 23, declaring that the
Lord is our shepherd and our guide in whom we can trust. They recorded it and performed it for the rest of the group when we joined together. It was amazing to see such great fruit coming from the time they’ve spent together over the course of this past year! We then capped off the day by lifting up a joyful noise to the Lord. We praised and we celebrated Him in all His majesty! Our final day of Heart & Skill year 3 is on July 13th and we cannot wait!
